Bush bean 'Ferrari'

Phaseolus vulgaris

Extra fine and tasty variety of snap bean. Gives a bountiful harvest. Harvest often, let the pods grow to about 12 cm. The pods are eaten cooked. Excellent for freezing, easily blanched. Thrives in well-drained, humus-rich and moisture-retaining soil in a sheltered position.

Pre-cultivation: May - mid June. 2-3 weeks before planting out after the last frost. Pre-cultivation is recommended especially for more northern regions. Sow 1 seed per cell. Keep warm (+25ºC). Keep moist. After sprouting, place in a light place at room temp.

Direct sowing: Do not sow until soil temp. is 15 °C. Rinse the seeds thoroughly before sowing. Water in the furrow. Then keep moist. Covering with fiber-cloth can keep the birds from getting at them first.
