Phaseolus vulgaris L.

Early, high-yielding bushy shell bean variety. Resistant to bean Mosaic virus and antracnosis. Mature within 60-70 days after seeding. Cocagne beans (also known as Coco de Cocagne) are a high-quality heirloom variety renowned for their exceptional, delicate flavour and creamy, melt-in-the-mouth texture. They are often described as a superior improvement on the famous Coco de Paimpol type.  Pods are yellow-reddish, 13 cm long. Beans are oval, purple-veined on a creamy white background.

Grows best in the temperature of 20–25 °C, in moderately heavy soil, in area protected from the wind.

Direct sowing: Do not sow until soil temp. is 15 °C, May-June. Rinse the seeds thoroughly before sowing. Water before sowing and keep moist until germination.  Covering with fiber-cloth can keep the birds from getting at them first!
