Phaseolus vulgaris L.
An early and high-yielding, disease resistant variety of wax bean well worth growing. Harvest often, don't let the pods get too big. Tastes best 12-15cm long and slender, fiberless and very tasty. The pods can be boiled and eaten fresh, or blanched and frozen.
Thrives best in well-drained, loamy and moisture-retaining soil in a sheltered position. Water abundantly. Vegetation period: 55-65 days.
Pre-cultivation: Maj - mid June. 2-3 weeks before planting out after the last frost. Pre-cultivation is recommended especially for more northern climates. Sow 1 seed/cell. Keep moist. Keep warm (+25ºC). After sprouting, place in a light place at room temp.0501-0615
Direct sowing: Mid Maj - mid June. Do not sow until soil temp. is 15 °C. Rinse the seeds thoroughly before sowing. Water in the furrow. Then keep moist. Covering with fiber-cloth can keep the birds from getting at them first
