Kale 'Half Tall'
Kale 'Half Tall'
Brassica oleracea
Kale is a hardy and easy-to-grow cabbage, and rich in vitamins and minerals. Harvested gradually, leaves can remain on the plant and can also be harvested during the winter. Tastes best after a few frosty nights. Thrives in clayey, humus-rich and well-drained soil, but is undemanding. Water when dry.
Pre-cultivation: April - mid-May, 4-6 weeks before planting out. Sow on moistened seed soil. Cover thinly with soil. Keep moist. Set warm (+22°C). After emergence, bright and cooler. When the plants are big enough to handle, place 1/pot in fertilized soil. Harden off the plants before transplanting out.
