Delightful, well-known summer flower in an eye-catching mix of colors.
Blooms willingly all summer in beautiful colors. Very robust plant with a compact growth habit. Suitable to have in the flower beds and in pots. Thrives in nutritious and well-drained soil. Pick off wilted flowers. Sun to partial shade (more sun = more flowers).
Also called flowering tobacco and ornamental tobacco.
Note: do not plant nicotiana in close proximity (or in the same vertical planter) as tomatoes, peppers or eggplant).
Pre-cultivation: March-April. Sow thinly in moist soil. The seeds must not be covered with soil. Cover with foil or place in mini greenhouse. Place light at 20-25 degrees. Germination time is 2-5 days. Ventilate daily. Keep the soil moist after sowing until germination has started. Water and fertilize regularly after transplanting.
