Cucurbita pepo L.

Vegetation period is 70 days. 4-5 cm diameter fruits can be canned, larger fruits can be fried, steamed, stuffed.  The flavour is mild and similar to zucchini, but the flesh is firmer which makes them also good for roasting in the oven and suitable for soups.
