Petunia 'Double Cascade' mix
Petunia 'Double Cascade' mix
Petunia grandiflora
Gigantic, full flowers with frilled petals in a soothing color mix in shades of pink, deep rose and lavender. Suitable for containers. Thrives in light, porous soil. Do not plant too close. Feed regularly.
Growing petunia from seed requires extra care. If you are a beginner at growing from seed you may want to allow yourself a season or two to become comfortable with the basics before tackling those that need a bit more attention early in the process.
Pre-cultivation: 10-12 weeks before expected last frost (March-April). Petunias are heat-loving plants and need at least 10 weeks of pre-cultivation to grow strong before being planted outside.
Sow sparsely on moistened seed-starting soil. Do not cover with soil - petunias need light and warmth to germinate. Proide light and keep warm (24 C), moist and cover with plastic. Replant to 1 plant/pot with fertilized soil. Place in a light and cool place. Additional lighting produces plumper plants, adjust lighting to 15cm above the plants as they grow. For bushier plants, pinch back 1-2 weeks after transplanting.
Very sensitive to frost, don't plant out too early!
