Annual herb where both leaves and seeds have a characteristic licorice-like taste. The plant produces beautiful white flowers during the summer. The leaves are used in salads, soups, teas and sauces. The seeds from the plant are used as spices in bread, desserts and cakes.
Place in a sunny place in warm, slightly moist and porous soil.
Direct sowing: May - June. Water the seedbed before sowing. Keep the soil moist after sowing until germination has started.
