Phaseolus vulgaris L.
A medium-early, high-yielding variety of French bean that give a bountiful harvest. Can be harvested very early as small delicacy beans, and also at 12-15 cm long with medium-sized fine round pods with dark grains. Delinel is renowned for its rich, sweet, and classic French bean taste, often described as a "gold standard". It remains tender and succulent, unlike other varieties that can become tough if not picked immediately. Good variety for the more northern climates. Good resistance to major bean diseases, including Bean Mosaic Virus and Anthracnose. Freezes well.
Ripens early, should be harvested regularly. Place sunny and warm in well-drained, nutritious and moist soil. Water well during flowering.
Pre-cultivation: 2-3 weeks before planting out after the last frost. Sow 1 seed per cell. Set warm (+25°C) and keep moist. After germination place in a light place at room temperature.
Direct sowing: Do not sow until soil temp. is 15 °C, May-June. Rinse the seeds thoroughly before sowing. Water before sowing and keep moist until germination.  Covering with fiber-cloth can keep the birds from getting at them first!
