Mustard spinach Komatsuna 'Malachai' F1
Brassica rapa
A fast-growing Asian leafy vegetable with glossy dark green leaves and a mild and pleasant taste. Produces lots of leaves. Good as baby leaves only 5 weeks after sowing in favourable conditions. Harvest the outermost leaves, or harvest an entire rosette but leave a couple cm stem - it will then grow back. Good eaten raw in sallads or lightly steamed and drizzled with balsamic vinegar or lemon.
Very good variety for hydroponic cultivation and growing indoors.
Hydroponic growing: Sow 2-3 seeds in a hydroponic growing plug. When the seeds germinate, the smallest plants are thinned out. Requires plant lighting for good results.
