An herb you can't live without in the southern kitchen! Perennial medicinal and decorative herb. Fresh and dried leaves are used for salads, meat dishes, gravy flavouring. A very popular spice in Italian cuisine, oregano is used for pizza, spaghetti.

Shoots and leaves can be harvested continuously. Fits well in pots and patio boxes. Requires light to germinate - the seeds must not be covered with soil. Thrives in humus-rich soil.

Pre-cultivation: March-April. Sow on the surface of moist sowing soil and cover lightly with sand or vermiculite. Cover with plastic or place in mini greenhouse. Keep moist and set in light. Replant when big enough to handle, and plant out after last frost.

Direct sowing: May-June. Sow on the surface of moist sowing soil and cover lightly with sand or vermiculite. Keep the seed moist until the seeds germinate.
