No herb garden is complete without parsley!  Gigante d'Italia is a moderately early and productive variety with smooth, broad, dark green leaves and very aromatic. Flat leaf parsley is more flavorful and easier to clean than the curly-leaf, making it the preferred choice of many for use in cooking.

Harvest leaves when needed and well into autumn. The plant overwinters in most climates, and gives an early harvest in year 2 before it blooms. Freezes well. Thrives in a nutrient-rich and well-drained soil. Water when dry.

Placed in sun to partial shade. Thrives best in nutrient-rich, porous and moist loam soil.

Pre-cultivation: March for planting out after the last frost. Soaking the seeds for 2-3 days gives faster germination.

Direct sowing: Early, as soon as the soil can be cultivated - mid-June. Water in the seedbed before sowing. Keep the seed moist. Germination time 2-4 weeks. Soaking the seeds for 2-3 days gives faster germination. Cover with fiber cloth for best results.

Can also be sown in the fall Sept - Oct for an earlier harvest the following spring.
