Wild strawberry 'Rügen'

Fragaria vesca semperflorens

Wild strawberry that produces plenty of large, red wild strawberries throughout the summer. Does not produce any runners, easy to grow. The seeds are very small and slow-growing, so pre-cultivation indoors is recommended. Grows best in loose soil. Wild strawberry makes a nice edging plant around flower beds. Beautiful, easy to care for and delicious!

Pre-cultivation: Feb - April. Preferred. So on moistened soil surface. Cover with plastic or place in a mini greenhouse, keep moist and place in the dark. After emergence, continue growing in well lit location at approx. 20°C. Germinates in 14-30 days. Transfer 1-3 seedlings/pot when large enough to handle.

Direct sowing: Maj - June. Water the soil before sowing. Keep the seed moist until the seeds germinate.
