Arugula 'Venetia'

Eruca sativa

Extra fast-growing rocket with toothed, flavorful leaves. Can be grown both outdoors and in pots indoors. Grown indoors the leaves will have a milder flavor. During the height of summer, the plant will flower easily. Pinch off any flower stalks. For an steady supply of fresh leaves, sowing should be repeated every few weeks. Cover with non-woven fabric to prevent insect infestation. Harvest outer leaves gradually when the leaves are about 7 cm long, leaving the rosette untouched.

Repeat sowing in late summer for harvest throughout the Fall. 

Direct sowing: Early, as soon as the soil can be cultivated thru mid-June, taking a break for the hottest months of Summer and sow again mid-July to mid-Sep. Water the seedbed before sowing. Keep the soil moist after sowing until germination has started.
