Camomille 'Zloty Lan'
Camomille 'Zloty Lan'
Matricaria recutita
Annual, fragrant chamomile that produces yellow and white basket flowers that can be dried and used for tea. The tea is said to have a cleansing and calming effect. Pick the flowers when they have just bloomed, best on sunny days and put them to dry directly in low heat -too high heat will turn them bitter.
Zloty Lan is a German variety of camomille (as opposed to Roman), that grows taller, flowers more abundantly and is preferable for tea.
Chamomile is a good companion near beans, peas, lettuce and spinach.
