Daucus carota L
Party colors on the dinner table! Mix of carrots in a variety of colors: purple, yellow, orange and white. The varieties in this mix are intended to be eaten fresh or blanched and frozen. They develop at similar rates for harvesting at the same time.
Not suitable for winter storage. Grows best in stone-free, humus-rich and well-drained soil. Water when dry. Remove weeds.
Do not sow too densely. Place in a sunny position in porous, weed-free, light and humus-rich soil. Does not thrive if the soil has recently been fertilized with organic fertilizer. Keep the soil moist after sowing until germination has started.
Summer carrots are varieties that are fast-growing, usually long and thin and with a fantastic sweet and juicy taste. Summer carrots are not the best for winter storage, and are best eaten straight away or frozen for later.
Lovely mix of 4 colourful, intermediate varieties:
- Jeanette F1 (40%): orange colored carrot
- Purple Haze F1 (20%): purple carrot, orange innermost
- Yellowstone (20%): yellow colored carrot
- White Satin F1 (20%): white carrot
Pre-cultivation: Not recommended - carrots do not like their roots disturbed.
Direct sowing: Early, as soon as the soil can be cultivated - the end of June. Water in the seedbed before sowing. Keep the seed moist. Germination time 2-4 weeks. Covering with fiber cloth after sowing gives faster germination and prevents attacks from pests. Leave the fiber cloth on until harvesting.
