Lettuce 'Skilton'
Lettuce 'Skilton'
Lactuca sativa
Beautiful leaf lettuce with finely lobed, tasty, crispy leaves. High in vitamin C, calcium and iron. Fairly low compact plants that are slow to bolt Thinning harvest before the plants start crowding and then harvest leaves as you go. Can also be grown in a pot on e.g. balcony. Thrives in a humus-rich, moisture-retaining and well-drained soil. Water regularly.
Direct sowing: Early, as soon as the soil can be cultivated until end of July. Water before sowing. Important to keep the seed moist.
