Nasturtium 'Peach Melba'
Nasturtium 'Peach Melba'
Tropaeolum majus
Compact nasturtium in delightful colors bright yellow with peach-coloured centers. Nice as an edging plant, in balcony boxes, flower beds and rockeries. The flowers are edible and very decorative in salads or sandwiches. Immature seeds can be added as capers. Thrives in well-drained soil - don't over-fertilize. In overly nutritious soil, the leaves develop at the expense of the flowers. Water regularly and feed sparingly. Put the seeds in warm water a day before sowing, and they will germinate more safely.
Pre-cultivation: April - mid May. 8v before planting, after last frost. Sow 1-2 seeds/pot in moist soil. Set at room temperature, after rising bright and cool.
Direct sowing: May - mid June. Water the seedbed before sowing. Keep the seed moist until the seeds germinate.
