'Long White Icicle' is a special radish. In its shape and with the snow-white color, it is reminiscent of an icicle. The individual roots grows up to 12 cm long and has an excellent mild taste. Excellent to refine salads. But also delicious as a vegetable accompaniment to meat or fish dishes.
Radishes are rich in vitamin C and potassium.
Repeat sowings at 2-week intervals to extend the harvest period.Ā Radishes are fast growing vegetablesĀ that can be grown between e.g. lettuce, cabbageĀ and squash - they can be harvested before the other plants spread out.
Thrives best in loose, moisture-retaining soil. Water abundantly. Harvest while young.
Radishes are best grown in the cooler temperatures of Spring and Autumn, they can be quick to bolt inĀ hot weather.
Direct sowing: March - September. Water before sowing and keep the seed moist during germination. Cover the seed with fiber cloth to avoid early insect attacks on the seedlings.Ā Thin seedlings asĀ needed, radishes will not grow well if they are too crowded.
