Rosmarinus officinalis L.
Bushy plant with sweetly scented, aromatic, pine-like leaves. Great seasoning for meat, potatoes, lamb, poultry and game. You can also make tea from the leaves. Is perennial but not very hardy. Should be wintered cool indoors as a houseplant or grown as an annual. Grows slowly and unevenly. Cut branches before the plant begins to flower. Tie in bouquets and hang to dry for winter use. Thrives in porous and warm soil. Grows nicely in containers.
Pre-cultivation: March - June. Sow sparsely in moist sowing soil. Place the pot in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks. Take it out and expose to light. When the seeds germinate, they are planted 1 plant/pot with fertilized soil.
